An established reinsurer decided to re-platform its underwriting manual and, as an initial step, asked SelectX to carry out an in-depth strategic review of its existing manual and the supporting organisational processes.
SelectX reviewed the current manual to assess how it compared with other reinsurer manuals in the market. The review covered both platform functionality and content, including the structure and clarity of the text and the appropriateness of rating guidance. Supporting processes were also examined, including the management of local and regional versions and the procedures used to update content.
To complete the initial phase of the project, SelectX facilitated a two-day workshop involving key stakeholders. This enabled a detailed discussion of the current strengths and weaknesses of the manual and helped begin the process of defining the strategic objectives for the re-platforming project.
